The Path of Life

I was taking a walk one winter morning on a section of the Fond du Lac Loop… it was spitty rain, and the path had a variety of surfaces from snow covered ice, to slush and sections with deep ruts and turned over lumps of grass.  It really was a mess and I had to be mindful of my footing, being strategic in my steps, and sometimes walking where I through there was a path when I couldn’t see any pavement. Without intentionally placing my feet I would have surely ended up on my butt.  Yet, even when I was choosing what I thought was a safe spot, the path turned out to be slippery and not what I anticipated at all.  I was committed and on a mission, no turning back.  I had all the gear in and wasn’t going to let a little drizzle cut my walksizzle… (I made that up)

This path made me think of our path in life…sometimes we must face the drizzle and take a step.  Today I was hyper focused on the path, making intentional choices.  I had to constantly think about my choices.  Sometimes they turned out to be what I expected, but there were other times the path got me.  There are days and seasons in the path of life, where every step can be iffy or they cause us to slip up. We question, was this even a good idea?  Am I on the right path, why is this so hard?  I know this is good for me but come on, more ice and snow?

There was one section today where a vehicle of some sort was what it looked like, trying to plow the path.  The driver was either mindlessly driving or truly lost the way in the blanket of snow… there were deep ruts in the mud where he went off course, he was not even on the path.  The driver pushed through and kept going despite the barrier that was there, in the process getting even more off track and making a mess of the landscape. Sometimes overturning big chucks of grass and mud.

How often is life like a section on this path?  Clearly seen?  Slightly snow and ice covered?  Unintelligible? Easy, but around the corner a drift or unexpected slushy, slippery spot?  So off course that you are digging a rut in the mud and missing the path entirely.

If you feel like that at times, you’re human.  If you’re looking for guidance, support and accountability on life’s path, that’s where I come in as an NBC-HWC.

I’d love to hear your story and give you the space to talk about the path you are on and the one you see.  Somewhere, where you don’t feel overwhelmed, you have support, and you aren’t judged on your past decisions or path.

Have you had a health scare? Are you dealing with family medical history that’s challenging your course?  Are you burned out and want to move past this to more energy and vitality?  Do you want to feel better and have life satisfaction and purpose, but failed before?

I want to partner with you as your coach and empower you to move from diagnosis or stuck to a path of hope without feeling that life will never be the same or that it’s too late.

I’d love to hear your story!  Let’s connect over coffee or a walk and talk about your path.
